Privacy Policy
This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what you can ask us about it.
Effective September 2, 2026
This privacy policy explains what information Insight Forensic and Valuation Services, LLC collects when you visit insightfvs.com, how that information is used, and the choices available to you. It applies to this website and to enquiries you send the firm before an engagement begins, however they reach us. It does not apply to information the firm receives in the course of a professional engagement, which is governed by the engagement letter and by the professional standards that apply to the work.
Information you provide
You can use this site without telling us who you are. If you contact us, whether through a form on this site, by email, or by telephone, we receive what you choose to send: typically your name, your firm or company, an email address, a telephone number, and a description of the matter you are asking about.
Please do not send confidential, privileged, or sensitive records through this website or by unencrypted email. An initial enquiry does not create an engagement, and information sent before an engagement is accepted may not be protected. If a matter requires documents, we will tell you how to transmit them.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server information when a page is requested. That typically includes the internet protocol address of the requesting device, the browser and operating system reported by it, the pages requested, the referring page, and the date and time. This information is used to operate and secure the site.
The site also uses an error monitoring service, which records diagnostic information when something on a page fails. That may include the page involved, the browser reporting it, and technical details of the error.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and which links they follow. Google acts as our service provider for that measurement.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and records a truncated internet protocol address, the pages viewed, the referring source, and general device and browser information. It does not receive your name or your contact details from this site, and we do not use it for advertising or to build a profile of you across other websites.
Analytics does not run until you allow it. On your first visit the site asks, and declining is as straightforward as accepting. Your choice is remembered, and you can change it at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer. Nothing beyond what the site needs to function loads before you choose.
You can also block analytics independently of this site, using your browser's cookie controls or Google's opt-out browser add-on. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a standing request not to be measured: analytics does not load, whatever choice is stored in your browser, and we treat the signal as a request not to sell or share personal information. The site does not ask you to choose while the signal is being sent, and the cookie settings link in the footer explains that analytics is off and why.
Cookies this site may set
Nothing is stored in your browser until you choose. When you do, the choice itself is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, and the analytics cookies below are set only if you allow analytics.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ifvs-analytics-consent, in local storage rather than a cookie | This site | Records your cookie choice so the site does not ask again | Until you clear your browser's storage for this site, or change the choice from the cookie settings link in the footer |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
| _ga_ followed by the measurement ID | Google Analytics | Keeps session state for the measurement property | 2 years |
The contact form is checked for automated abuse before it is accepted, by Cloudflare Turnstile. That check is part of making the form work rather than a measurement of you, so it runs when the form is shown and does not wait for a cookie choice. Cloudflare receives the request and the internet protocol address it comes from. Nothing from that check is used for analytics or advertising.
If you decline analytics after having allowed it, the cookies in the table are deleted and the page reloads, in every tab you have open.
How we use information
We use what you send us to respond to your enquiry, to run the conflict check that has to precede any engagement, and to discuss scope, timing, and fees. We use automatically collected information to operate, secure, and improve the site.
- Responding to enquiries and providing the services requested
- Conflict checking and engagement administration
- Operating, maintaining, and securing the website
- Meeting legal, regulatory, and professional obligations
We may produce aggregated or de-identified information: counts, trends, and similar summaries that do not identify anyone. We use that without restriction, and we do not attempt to re-identify it.
How information is shared
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share information with service providers who support the site and the firm's operations, including our hosting provider, email provider, error monitoring service, Cloudflare, whose Turnstile check screens form submissions for automated abuse, Supabase, which hosts the database an enquiry sent through the contact form is written to, and Google as our analytics provider, and only as needed for them to perform that work.
If the firm is merged, acquired, or reorganized, or if its practice is transferred to another firm, information held by the firm may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to the professional obligations that attach to it.
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, or a regulatory or professional authority, or where necessary to establish or defend legal claims.
Retention
Enquiries are retained indefinitely, so that the firm keeps a complete record of who it has spoken to and can run the conflict check that has to precede any engagement. If you would like your enquiry removed, ask us and we will remove it, unless we are required to retain it. Where an engagement follows, the resulting records are retained under the firm's records retention practices and the professional standards that apply to the work. Server and diagnostic logs are retained for a limited period in the ordinary course.
Security
Enquiries sent through this site are stored in a database located in the United States. The site itself is delivered through a content delivery network with locations in several countries, so the pages you request are served from the location nearest you, and standard server records of those requests are collected there. Our analytics provider operates its own infrastructure and handles the measurement information described above under its terms.
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to the firm's systems is restricted to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, which is the reason for the caution above about sending confidential material through a website or by unencrypted email.
Your choices
You can ask what personal information the firm holds about you, ask that it be corrected, or ask that it be deleted. Depending on where you live, you may have a statutory right to make those requests and to be free from discrimination for making one. Some information cannot be deleted where the firm is required to retain it, including conflict records and engagement files.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will ask only for what is needed to do that. We acknowledge requests within ten business days and respond within forty-five days. If a request is complicated, we may take up to a further forty-five days, and we will tell you before we do.
Someone may make a request on your behalf. We will ask for written permission signed by you, or other evidence that the person is authorized to act for you, and we may still ask to verify your identity directly.

Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the requests described above are the ones the law gives you: to know what personal information the firm holds about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and not to be treated differently for asking. The same route and the same timescales apply.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a standing request not to be measured and as a request not to sell or share personal information.
Requests to remove material
If something on this site concerns you, tell us and we will look at it. That includes a photograph or other material you believe should not be published, information about you that you would like corrected or removed, and material you believe infringes your copyright or another right.
Send the request to hello@insightfvs.com, or to the address below, describing the material and where on the site it appears. We will acknowledge it, review it, and tell you what we have done. The same route is set out in our terms of use.
Children
This site is directed to attorneys, business owners, fiduciaries, and other professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Other sites
This site links to pages operated by others. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Their policies govern what they collect.
